Personal Training in Streetsville Mississauga

Athlete-style personal training for Mississauga adults who want serious coaching

Most personal training in Mississauga falls into two camps. Bootcamp-style group sessions that lack programming depth, and in-home personal trainers selling convenience over rigor. Ternion is the third option, delivered out of our Streetsville studio at 66 Thomas Street, Unit 32.

Our personal trainers apply the same methodology used with provincial and national-level athletes to driven adults across the Greater Toronto Hamilton Area who refuse generic gym programming. The intake is structured. The program is built around your training history, your goals, and your schedule. The standards are athletic.

Sly Walters leads the personal training team in Mississauga as Sport Psychologist and Certified Athletic Trainer with 19 years of experience working with Olympic, MLS, NHL, and Canadian national team athletes. Every coach you train with has competed at a pro or semi-pro level.

What sets the program apart is that it goes beyond physical training. It also focuses on mental strength and a positive mindset.

Why Train with Ternion for Personal Training
choose Ternion

01

Athletic methodology, not bootcamp.

Every program is structured around the same principles used with competitive athletes: progressive overload, load management, sport-specific demands where relevant, and intentional recovery weeks.

02

Coaches who have competed.

Every personal trainer on staff has played at a pro or semi-pro level. They have lived the work, not just studied it.

03

Mental performance integrated.

Sly Walters MSc is a Sport Psychologist. Pre-competition routines, focus, and confidence work can be folded into your training without seeing a separate provider.

04

Athletic therapy on-site.

Tweaked something? Our Certified Athletic Therapist works in the same building. Your training and your recovery are coordinated, not fragmented.

◆ What to Expect

What to Expect

Your first 6 weeks are foundational. Movement screening, baseline performance numbers, and the program is calibrated to where you actually are right now rather than where you assume you are.

Weeks 7 to 12 progress. Loading increases, sport-specific or goal-specific work expands, and conditioning intensifies in a structured cycle with deload weeks built in.

Beyond 12 weeks the program runs in seasons. You are training across the year, not chasing intensity. Long-term performance is the target.

  1. Phase 01

    Assessment.

Intake conversation, movement screening, baseline lifts, conditioning markers. Done in your first two sessions.

  2. Phase 02

    Programming.

Coaches build a 12-week block around your goals, training age, and schedule. Reviewed every 4 weeks.

  3. Phase 03

    Progression.

You are no longer working off a generic program. The work compounds and the metrics improve across seasons.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes Ternion's personal training different from other Mississauga personal trainers?
Three things. Every coach on staff has competed at a pro or semi-pro level. The methodology is the same one used with provincial and national athletes, not bootcamp. And the supporting services (sport psychology with Sly, on-site athletic therapy) are coordinated under one roof.
Do I have to be an athlete to train at Ternion?
No. Most of our personal training clients are not competitive athletes. They are driven adults who refuse generic gym programming. The same standards apply, scaled to your goals and training history.
How often should I train with a personal trainer?
Most clients train 1 to 2 times per week with us and supplement with on-their-own sessions to a written program. The right cadence depends on your goals, recovery capacity, and schedule. We figure this out in your intake.
What does a typical personal training session look like?
60 minutes. Warmup, primary lift or movement focus, accessory work, conditioning if programmed. Coaches cue technique throughout. Programming is written ahead of time so you are not guessing at the session.
How do I get started with personal training?
Submit the contact form or call. We schedule an intake conversation, then book your first assessment session. That session is where we screen movement, set baselines, and confirm the right package for you.
